RepoRead publishes plain-English, step-by-step guides to REA (Reverse Engineer Anything) and similar open-source projects that connect AI agents to reverse-engineering tools.

What we cover

  • Installation, updates and removal, using the commands documented upstream.
  • First runs from the terminal and from an AI agent.
  • Common errors, matched with the fix the maintainers document.
  • A dated "what's new" summary of releases.

Who writes it

Guides are written and maintained by the RepoRead editorial team. We are users of these projects, not their maintainers. When the upstream documentation and our page disagree, the upstream documentation wins; please tell us so we can fix the page.

Independence and trademarks

RepoRead is an unofficial, independent website. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by GitHub, Inc. Not affiliated with the REA project or its authors. The domain name rea-github.com refers to GitHub only to describe where the open-source projects we write about are hosted (nominative use). "GitHub" is a trademark of GitHub, Inc.; other product names are trademarks of their respective owners. We do not use their logos.

Responsible use

Everything on RepoRead is for legal, authorized and educational use only. We write about analyzing software you own, software you have written permission to examine, open-source code, CTF challenges and malware samples handled within your organization's rules. We do not publish guides on removing copy protection, bypassing license checks or DRM, defeating anti-cheat systems, or accessing systems without permission, and we do not offer reverse-engineering services.

How we check facts

  • Version numbers, release dates, licenses and star counts come from the projects' own repositories, release pages or official documentation, and each figure is labeled with the date we checked it.
  • If we could not verify something, we leave it out rather than estimate it.
  • Commands are copied from upstream documentation, not invented. Projects change fast, so confirm against the linked source before you run anything.
